Ted And Loretta Foster Care Comfort Kits

Program Description

Comfort Care Kits are given to children coming into care or transitioning to a new placement. This includes foster homes, residential homes ad kinship homes across the province. The backpacks contain age appropriate items and are grouped in 0-2 years, 3-5 years, 6-12 years and 13-18 years. Gift cards to various restaurants and stores are given alongside the backpacks. The contents of the backpacks are meant to help ease the overwhelming transition these children experience and to provide some comfort.

Criteria

  • Children and youth aged 0-18
  • Children who are entering foster or kin care on a temporary basis or permanent basis
